Mobile Devices Deployment

Case Study

For one of Bulgaria’s leading e-commerce platforms, we delivered next-generation devices to replace outdated equipment and support warehouse expansion.

Hardware Integration

Background

For the upcoming warehouse expansion, the client aimed to implement a new range of mobile devices to optimize costs. The main requirements were to ensure devices of equal or higher quality than those currently in use, as well as to guarantee full compatibility with the existing warehouse software, including the ability for old and new devices to operate simultaneously.

Solution

For this project, we supplied one of our flagship mobile devices - a model without a hardware keyboard, featuring a 5.5” display and enhanced drop resistance of up to 2.2 meters. To ensure a successful implementation, our software engineers collaborated closely with the client’s development team to adapt the existing software, primarily focusing on barcode scanner management and locking the devices in kiosk mode.

Challenges

  • High device utilization and intensive workload
  • Concurrent operation of devices running different Android versions
  • Provision and maintenance of custom firmware for optimal barcode scanner performance
  • Staff training for effective use of different device types - with and without a physical keyboard

Effects

  • Significant budget optimization
  • Enhanced user experience through larger display size
  • Reduced service and maintenance costs
  • Increased flexibility with a wide range of compatible devices for future expansions
